The Preserving VMSDEP Task Force’s first meeting will be held on June 10th at the Virginia War Memorial (621 S Belvidere St, Richmond, VA 23220) from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Assistant Secretary of Veteran and Defense Affairs, Jordan Stewart, wrote Task Force members last night with an update. “The Task Force will take in-person public comment. We currently have 41 individuals who have signed up to provide in-person comment, though registration to speak is open till June 7th. Speakers will be called on a first-come, first-served basis based on the date and time we receive the request. Each individual is limited to three minutes to allow as many commenters as possible. Due to technical constraints, the public comment at this meeting is limited to in-person attendees. We have RSVPs for about 200 individuals and another 80 who have written to say they will watch online.”
Note – attendees who wish to observe the Task Force’s meeting virtually can go to the Virginia Department of Veterans Services’ website here. You can find the Task Force announcement here.
