Communications Team
Our Purpose - The AVV Communications Team manages the website, social media accounts, mass email, monthly newsletters, weekly stand-to, various printed materials, etc.
Your Tasks - Based on your interests and expertise, you will help our Communications Team with developing, publishing and maintaining some of the above categories. Editing experience useful, not required. Social Media experience useful. Communication products not published with byline unless permitted by author.
Where / When - You will primarily work from home. Participate in Zoom meetings, attend selected events, and work closely with AVV Staff on these important communications tools.
Time Requirement: 1 – 2 hours per week.

Operations Team
Our Purpose - The AVV Operations Team identifies priority AVV activities, develops implementing plans, coordinates supporting actions across regional teams, and performs assessments of outcomes. The Operations team oversees the master operations calendar of AVV.
Your Tasks - As part of a team, you will participate in planning, coordination, and assessment activities in support of AVV operations. You will help maintain the connection between regional teams, their regional activities, and their operational requirements. Involvement in local political activities desirable but not required.
Membership in local VSO organizations desirable but not required.
Where / When - As part of the AVV Operations Team, you will attend periodic Zoom calls to both represent your regional team and help coordinate the planning and execution of regional actions across AVV operations.
Time Requirement: 1 – 2 hours per week.

Logistics Team
Our Purpose - The AVV Logistics Team handles accounting, storage distribution and re-stockage of AVV campaign materials, event support equipment, and member support items to service AVV regional needs.
Your Tasks - As part of a team, you will store, supply, and, when, necessary, deliver and set up AVV material support items for AVV event sites or member activities. As needed, you will help in the recovery, storage, inventory, and replenishment of AVV materials. You will generate requests for replenishment to AVV Headquarters when necessary. All financial transactions involving these materials are handled by AVV headquarters. Average delivery consists of boxed items – average weight per box is 15 – 20 lbs.
Where / When - Logistics support is generally organized around regional team activities, their calendar, and their requirements. Replenishment purchases and shipment are handled by AVV headquarters for delivery to regional storage locations.
Time Requirement: 2 – 4 hours per regional event; 1 hour to inventory monthly.

Data Support Team
Our Purpose - The AVV Data Team works with commercially provided databases and other publicly available sources to build data based Veteran lists to enable AVV messaging and other outreach activities.
Your Tasks - As part of a team, you will conduct data analysis to draw reasonable conclusions, compile explanatory tables or data samples, and, as necessary, coordinate with AVV leaders and AVV partners to answer various data queries. No coding or advanced computer skills required. Microsoft Power point and Excel experience useful.
Where / When - You will work from home, participate on Zoom as needed, and present via Zoom as needed to present or explain conclusions and insights derived from data analysis.
Time Requirement: 2 – 4 hours per week.

Liaison Team
Our Purpose - The Liaison Team connects AVV to local political officials, community leaders, candidates and campaigns (when appropriate) and AVV allied organizations.
Your Tasks - As part of a team, you can use existing or new memberships, community contacts, or community activities to gather or provide information related to elections, local issues, or ongoing initiatives helpful to AVV interests and supporting activities. Periodic short reports via email or Zoom necessary. Recruiting new members is an important secondary task.
Where / When - You will work within your local community or locality. You will represent AVV locally as needed with necessary support and information from AVV headquarters.
Time Requirement: 1-2 hours per week for reporting; engagement activities per personal schedule.

Phone Bank Team
Our Purpose - The AVV Phone Bank Team telephones Veterans and Veteran Supporters to encourage them to vote or remind them to support endorsed candidates, key AVV initiatives, and upcoming events.
Your Tasks - As part of a team, you will call prepared lists of specific Veterans and Veteran Supporters to deliver a personal Veteran to Veteran message (eg. Voting importance) or deliver a prepared script or suggested talking points. Various automated tools will often be available to support your efforts and make the task easier and more efficient. AVV headquarters will prepare call lists derived from proprietary databases and AVV analytics.
Where / When - You will primarily work from home and use your own telephone. Expect to participate in periodic Zoom meetings, receive call lists, and work closely with AVV Staff and regional leadership in executing calls.
Time Requirement: 2 – 3 hours per week.

Poll Worker Team
Our Purpose - The AVV Poll Worker Team focuses on local voting poll locations to assist Veterans and Veteran Supporters in registering, voting, and ensuring vote integrity in accordance with state guidelines and registrar instructions.
Your Tasks - As part of the AVV Poll Worker Team you may greet voters at selected polling locations, hand out sample ballots or AVV materials, and answer questions about voting procedures and candidates. The team also assists volunteers who are interested in working “inside” the polls as a poll watcher or election official. AVV headquarters may ask for periodic collection and reporting of publicly available voter participation information available from local registrar offices.
Where / When - You will be volunteering at selected polling locations as your schedule allows from the beginning of early voting through voting day. Team coordination will use periodic Zoom meetings and phone trees to assign poll site responsibilities.

Canvassing Team
Our Purpose - The AVV Canvassing Team engages Veteran voters at events or during door knocking in selected regions, localities, and neighborhoods to encourage veterans to register to vote, vote absentee, vote in person early, or vote on voting day. All voter special needs and assistance will be identified for necessary support.
Your Tasks - As part of a team, you will be meeting Veteran voters, at events or while door knocking in target neighborhoods, delivering literature or leaving “door hangers,” utilizing a script as needed, and collecting information on Veteran concerns and voting preferences.
Where / When - You will be asked about your availability within election cycles. Expect regional coordination through Zoom or at neighborhood meetups. You will work closely with the AVV regional leadership in execution of this important Vet to Vet, Get Out the Vote (GOTV) work.
Time Requirement: 2 - 4 hours per canvassing activity.
